West Papuan guerrillas are targeting the US-owned gold and copper
Freeport mine with a bombing campaign against the mining
infrastructure. The West Papua Liberation Army are targeting the mine
because of the ongoing abuses of human rights of the local indigenous
peoples, the destruction and pollution of the environment associated
with the mines operation and the ongoing suppression of West Papuan
self-determination.
